Questions

Jacquard Design: common questions

Jacquard design is creating patterns that are woven into the fabric, not printed on it. A jacquard loom lifts each warp thread separately, so the designer draws the motif, converts it into a graph of ends and picks, assigns a weave to each colour, and saves a file the electronic jacquard machine reads.

In weaving units and saree makers that run electronic jacquard looms, of which Surat has many, and as freelancers who sell designs to them.
